Ron Yee – Dance Director

Mr. Yee is a 2-time USBC champion with superior experience and professional accreditation in American & International Standard Ballroom Dancing. Ron has trained many certified dance professionals such as the ever popular Julianne Hough! It is noteworthy to add that he is one of only two Fellows of the Imperial Society of Teaching of Dancing (ISTD) within the state of Nevada. Ron has served as an adjudicator and invidulator at prestigious events throughout his career.  He has served as a dance coach to not only world class Ballroom dancers, but he is also sought after by professionals in ice skating and country western dancing. Throughout his career, Ron has had the privilege of being brought up through the ranks by world class masters, such as Bryan and Susan Puttock, Hilda Lanza, Vernon Brock, Kenny & Marion Welsh and Chris Morris.  He brings a tremendous body of knowledge, technique, and skill to Ballroom Addiction.  Ron Yee’s teaching methodology is second to none, a fact reflected by Ron being the editor, as well as one of the authors, of the original DVIDA syllabus.

Julia St. Marie – Dancer, Choreographer, Instructor

Julia St. Marie is one of the most talented dancers in Las Vegas whose warm heart adds an air of grace to every studio she is associated with.  Julia’s life in dance began at an early age in New York City where she studied ballet and gymnastics.  Her dance repertoire includes competitive Ballroom, Latin dances, Hustle, Hip Hop, Tap, Jazz, Belly Dance, Salsa, Lindy, WCS, Balboa, Charleston, and Argentine Tango.  Julia, a true professional, has studied voice and acting, and has worked as a choreographer, production coordinator for film, and as  a dancer and singer on the Las Vegas Strip in production shows.  Taking classes with Julia requires an attentive attitude and a willingness to step in and learn.  Julia is a natural who can quickly analyze your movements such that you will progress in dance with economic and time-wise efficiency.   Julia can explain technique like few others while appreciating the creativity that beginners bring to dance.  While one of Julia’s favorite social and competitive dances is Hustle, her wide range of experience allows her to aid students of dance in most genres.  As a student of dance, you are encouraged to take advantage of the lifetime of experience encapsulated in the wonderful Julia St. Marie.

Nick Peterson – Dancer, Instructor

Nick Peterson is the creator of Swing U, the ongoing Thursday evening Swing series at Ballroom Addiction.  His classes are designed as monthly sets of instruction, building technique on a given subject through each month.  Nick has an ability to teach technique and build beginner dancers up with a solid foundation that allows for fluid dancing with improvisational ability in fully communicative lead-follow dancing.  He also offers private lessons for dancers at all levels from beginners to social dancers, as well as those who want to compete.  Nick Peterson is a Swing dancer extraordinaire who lives, eats, and breathes the period swing genres of Lindy, Charleston, Balboa, and Shag.  He is currently a student of history at UNLV, and Nick applies this academic interest to dance while studying the technique and history of many dance genres.  Nick is a 1st-place winner at the National Jitterbug Championships (Camp Hollywood).  He is the most influential force in the Las Vegas Swing community, sponsoring visiting top level professionals who conduct workshops in Las Vegas.  Nick travels widely in the ongoing effort to hone his craft, encouraging all Swing dancers to do likewise.  Nick Peterson’s passion for Swing results in truly ingenious analysis and instruction of dance movement, in both leading and following.
